How much do you charge?
$200/hour
Small Tattoo - $600
MY MINIMUM TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT IS A Small tattoo ($600) NOTHING LESS. A Small tattoo session is a total of 3 hours, which includes the drawing, stenciling, and tattooing. A small session will be ideal if you want to get 1 flower, or 1 object around palm size.
Half Day Session - $1200
This session would be ideal for like a one sided forearm peice.
Big projects -
for those starting big projects (anything bigger than a quarter sleeve), you will have to schedule multiple sessions. Your first appointment will be a consultation charged at $200/hour. the consultation can take 1-3 hours give or take. on that first visit we will discuss and design your whole tattoo. you will be able to see what your full sleeve is going to look like on you. The following appointments will be half day sessions of 6 hours ($1200); 1 hour of stenciling (done at home) and 5 hours of tattooing.
Anything less or more than mentioned in the above sessions will be at a $200/hour rate, with a $200 minimum. this ONLY applies if WE DISCUSSED IT ALREADY AND you come back to finish a tattoo we have already started, and lets say we finsih within 1 or 2 hours. or if we happen to go over a Full day plus session booked, then you will be charged and additional $200/hour.
Keep in mind I charge for my time. I am dedicated to your tattoo as soon as you walk in through that door. Everything flows a lot smoother when I am given the artistic freedom to design your tattoo. If the client is being picky and agreeing on a design is taking longer than usual, you will be taking up time from your session. Meaning there will be less tattooing time. If you are constantly taking breaks to do other stuff or stepping out on a phone call, that is also time you are taking up from your session. You are completely responsible on how you use your time booked with me.
How do I know what session to book?
First ask yourself how detailed is your tattoo idea? I can cover the same amount of space in a half day as I can in 2 half day sessions. If your tattoo is a lot more simplified I would suggest 1 half day. If your tattoo idea is a lot more complex and detailed, then I would suggest booking for a large project. Please read below for a more detailed explanation.
Large Project - book this session if you are looking to get a quarter sleeve done (more than 2 objects or super detailed and some background) or working on a big project (anything bigger than a quarter sleeve) or cover up.
When you book for a large project or cover up you are required to book 3 appointments to start off with.
1st appointment: a consultation/design session in which we will be able to discuss the design. I will completely design your tattoo and you will be able to see what your tattoo will look like on you. If working on a cover up you will be able to see how the tattoo will cover up your old tattoo or scar. This appointment will be charged at $200/hr. It can take 1-3 hours.
2nd and 3rd appointment: will be your actual tattoo appointments. These 2 appointments will be scheduled back to back and each appointment will include 1 hour of stenciling (done at home) and 5 hours of tattooing. $1200 for each session. If you happen to not need the 3rd appointment it would just get cancelled.
The deposit to get you booked in for a large project will be $600; $200 for each of the 3 sessions. The $200 will be credited on each session. If by any reason the tattoo is not finished by the 3rd session, then the last of your $200 deposit will be rolled over and credited on your last session. But during your consultation/design appointment, I will be able to give you a better idea of how many sessions your tattoo might take.
Half day - book this session if you are looking to get a quarter sleeve done (two objects/items done other than a portrait, within fist size and some background). For example: one flower and a pocket watch, etc. You should not be booking this session if you are looking to get a cover up.
4 hour tattoo session: 4 hours of tattooing + 1 hour of drawing + 1 hour of stenciling
Portraits- book this session if you are getting a portrait done. only one persons face with no other additions to the tattoo is considered a portrait. not an animal. any animals face will be done in a half day session.
Black and grey portraits are $800-$1000.
Color portraits are $800-$1600.
Price is based on how long the portrait takes.
Small tattoo- Book this session if the tattoo you want is about palm size.
1-2 hour tattoo session: 1-2 hours of tattooing + 1-2 hours of drawing and stenciling, a total of 3 hours
Anything less or more than mentioned above will be at a $200/hour rate, with a $200 minimum. this ONLY applies if WE DISCUSSED IT ALREADY AND you come back to finish a tattoo we have already started, and lets say we finsih within 1 or 2 hours. or if we happen to go over a Full day plus session booked, then you will be charged and additional $200/hour.
Is my deposit credited towards my tattoo?
Yes. The deposit is credited towards the total of your tattoo or on the last session if you have multiple sessions and your deposit is being rolled over.
If you are a no show, your deposit will be forfeited.
If you fail to reschedule your appointment with at least a 48hr notice, your deposit will be forfeited.
If you already rescheduled once and you need to reschedule a second time, your deposit will be forfeited.
If you decide you no longer want to get tattooed or don’t agree on the design (the artist will have the last say on design, size and layout) you will forfeit your deposit.
There are no refunds under any circumstances.
What are some examples of how long a tattoo takes?
4 hours
6 hours
8-11 hours
Around 12 hours
How much is it for a sleeve?
I can’t tell you exactly how much a sleeve will go for because I don’t know how long it’s going to take. From experience, full sleeves/leg sleeves/whole back usually take anywhere from 4-10 full days, depending on the size of your arm/leg/back and if you are getting black and grey or color.
Long Term Projects
This applies to you if you are starting a big project (sleeve, leg sleeve, whole back, etc).
Your first session will be used to design your tattoo. I will charge $200/hour for this appointment. This appointment will require a $1000 deposit. $800 of that deposit will go towards this appointment. $200 or the remaining balance will go towards the deposit for your next session booked.
You have to agree coming in once a month or once every other month.
No more than 2 months break in between each session.
Project has to be finished within the 2 year mark from the very first appointment.
The artist has the right to decline continuing the artwork if 1 years has passed since your last appointment.
The artist needs total artistic freedom. Of course you have a say in the theme and the idea of your tattoo, but the artist will know best when it comes down to design, size and layout,
Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes, you are able to reschedule ONCE without losing your deposit, as long as you contact me at least 24 hours prior to your tattoo appointment. If you contact me in less than 24 hours prior to your appointment for a reschedule, a new deposit will have to be made and your previous deposit will be forfeited.
If you reschedule a second time a new deposit will have to be made and your previous deposit will be forfeited.
Can I pay with a credit card, Venmo, Cash app, PayPal, Zelle?
I only accept cash or Zelle as a form of payment, no exceptions!
I sent my request. What’s next?
You will recieve an email or text response with the next available date. You then have 2 hours to send a deposit to reserve your slot. If you don’t send a deposit within the 2 hour period, I cannot guarantee that date will be available and a new date will be given.
I receive many requests daily, so please be patient. I personally review every request and choose the projects that inspire me the most. It may take weeks or months for me to reply as I go through all the requests.
What if I don’t receive a formal response or if my idea is denied?
Don’t get discouraged! Try again with a different idea that might catch my eye. My portfolio is a good general indication of what I want to do more of. I like to focus on large scale projects Realism or Graffiti Realism. I avoid doing tribal, traditional, line work, and religious portraits; I don’t like doing the same image over and over again.
I only work on one person per day, so there are projects that I unfortunately won’t be able to accommodate.
What takes longer? Black and grey or color?
COLOR definitely takes longer! What might take to finish a 4 hour tattoo in black and grey, might take 6-8 hours in color.
Do I get to see a sketch before my appointment?
If you are starting on a big project, yes. Your first appointment will be used to discuss and design your tattoo.
If you are scheduled for a quarter sleeve or smaller, no. I do not make any sketches more than 1 day prior the appointment for the simple reason that people tend to change their minds a lot. I will get a hold of you the day before your tattoo appointment to go over the design. Once I have a YES from you I will go ahead and start the stenciling. NOTHING can be changed after I start stenciling out the design, if it is then the extra time taken will come out of your hours of tattooing.
Is it better to book smaller sessions or bigger sessions?
That depends on the tattoo that you are getting. Once you fill out the form and I get back to you, I will check what session you requested. If I feel like you have requested the wrong session I will suggest what session you should book instead.
Do you accept walk ins?
No. I am by appointment only.
How long has Silver been tattooing for?
I started tattooing in 2007 and have been doing it professionally since 2014.
Are kids or extra guests allowed in the shop?
No kids are allowed to wait while you are getting a tattoo. You can bring ONE person with you but personally I like it better when it’s just me and the client (there are less distractions and I don’t feel rushed).
How long until I can go swimming?
You have to wait until your tattoo is completely healed before going swimming or going in a hot tub. The healing process can be different with everyone. Some people heal faster than others. Once the tattoo has completely pealed give it about another week or so for the skin to restore. It generally takes about 2 weeks to a month for full healing.
How long until I can be in the sun?
You have to make sure you do not have direct sunlight while your tattoo is healing. You cannot wear sunscreen during the healing process so I would advise to cover it with some type of clothing.
Make sure you DO NOT have a sunburn or recent tan when you come in for your appointment. If I am not able to tattoo you when you come in to your appointment due to a sunburn, you will automatically lose your deposit and will have to reschedule.
Even after the tattoo is healed you have to keep taking care of it. This means wear lots of sunscreen while you are out in the sun. The way you take care of it now, will determine how your tattoo will look 10 years from now.
What to expect on my appointment day?
ON your appointment day:
As soon as you walk in we will measure your design. The design will then be printed to confirm exact size.
Once sizing has been confirmed, I will have you come on in to my booth where everything is going to be set up and ready to go. I will transfer the stencil onto your skin. We have to wait 10-20 mins for the stencil to dry. (Great time to go grab a snack! There is a 7-eleven walking distance).
Then we start tattooing!
If you booked a full day we do take small breaks to eat. I would suggest bringing food (we do have a fridge and a microwave). I would also suggest taking a 10-20 min eating breaks. If you take anything longer, keep in mind your skin starts to heal and it might be a little more painful when we start tattooing again. And remember we are on the clock. If you booked anything less then a full day, you get bathroom/snacks breaks (quick 5-10 min breaks).
Once finish I will take a few pics, your tattoo will be cleaned and a bandage will be put on.
Am I able to switch my tattoo idea?
NO, every request is looked at carefully and chosen if I feel like the idea suits me. You can bring it up to my attention and see if I would be interested in the new idea, but I can’t guarantee that I will agree. If I decide it’s okay to switch your tattoo idea, it has to be notified to me 48 hours prior to your tattoo appointment and it has to remain within the time period booked for that session. If you book a full day, your new idea has to fill in the full day session. It cannot be anything smaller. If you are booked for a couple hours and your new idea would take up a full day, your appointment may have to be rescheduled, depending on the artists availability. It also has to remain within the same style (realism).
